How to set the Grit Classifier Alarm
Go to the setup screen below.
The Present current is readout of what amp is drawn while running.
- Set High Amp to 10% below FLA of motor. Let the Low at 0.
- After startup you can set it to 10% lower than amp readout when running empty.
- After a few weeks the operator can adjust the Low value to just below when the screw normally runs and has grit. This way they will get alarm when the screw runs without grit (indicating some issue upstream perhaps)
This alarm indicates that the motor is turning with a torque higher or lower than the set points:
This may indicate:
LOW TORQUE: No grit is present. Obstruction upstream. Failed feed pump. Broken Spiral. Broken Gearbox.
HIGH TORQUE: Too much grit is present. Obstruction at outlet. Broken Gearbox. Failing Motor.
