DSS-V Inlet Design
We have direct inlet with overflow pipe on the inlet pipe.
The headloss is a function of the depth of the screen. The foot of the screen is designed to prevent submersion of the screening basket, with the bottom of the screening basket positioned higher than the wet well outlet.
The Overflow pipe is used to start the screen only when the screen is full. This is to maximize the use of the screening basket and reduce operating hours of the screen.
The headloss is a function of the depth of the screen. The foot of the screen is designed to prevent submersion of the screening basket, with the bottom of the screening basket positioned higher than the wet well outlet. Therefore, the headloss between the inlet pipe centerline and vault base will depend on the position of wet well outlet.
In addition to a lower headloss, our design also permits for partial submersion of the screen. Meaning that the wet well outlet is position can above the bottom of the screening basket. This should be avoided whenever possible as it would result in a reduced screening capacity.
